Kazakhstan Stock Exchange trading in the third quarter of 2015

In the third quarter (July 1 - September 30) of 2015, the companies listed below accounted for more than 89% of the dollar volume of trades on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange in Almaty. The Kazakhstan Electric Grid Operating Company (KEGC) and KazTransOil (KZTO) together made up nearly half of the dollar volume of trades on the exchange in the quarter. They are listed below in order of dollar volume of trades for the quarter.  Eight of the ten shares in the list are in the KASE Indexwith the exceptions being BAST (BAST) and the preferred shares of KazMunaiGas (RDGZp). Kazkommertsbank (KKGB) is in the KASE Index but is not among the ten issues below.

Kazakhstan Electric Grid Operating Company (KEGC) - power transmission
KazTransOil (KZTO) - oil transport
Halyk Savings Bank (HSBK) - banking
KAZ Minerals (GB_KZMS) - mining and processing
KazMunaiGas preferred shares (RDGZp) - oil and gas exploration and production
Kazakhtelecom (KZTK) - telecommunications
BAST (BAST) - exploration, mining, and processing of copper
Kcell (KCEL) - mobile operator
KazMunaiGas common shares (RDGZ) - oil and gas exploration and production
BankCenterCredit (CCBN) - banking

KazTransOil led in dollar volume volume of trades in the second quarter, followed by the Kazakhstan Electric Grid Operating Company. They reversed positions for this quarter. Average dollar amount per trade ranged from about $2,600 to about $6,600.

BankCenterCredit reappears on the list after an absence from the second quarter list but KASE Index component Kazkommertsbank is not on this quarter's list.
