Kazakhstan Stock Exchange

In the last year to January 31, the companies listed below have accounted for more than 78% of the volume of trades on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange in Almaty.  The average dollar volume of trade per issue for these companies ranged from about $5,000 to over $22,000 and this range did not change significantly in the last three months.  All of the companies whose shares are in the list below are in the KASE Index except for Eurasian Natural Resources Corp., which had been a part of the index, and the preferred shares of KazMunaiGas.  The companies are listed in order of the share of volume of the Exchange's trade for the last year.

Recently, deals have totaled over $700,000 per day on this exchange.

KazTransOil (KZTO) - oil transport
Kazakhtelecom (KZTK) - telecommunications
KazMunaiGas preferred shares (RDGZp) - oil and gas exploration and production
Kcell (KCEL) - mobile operator  
Halyk Savings Bank (HSBK) - banking
KAZAKHMYS (GB_KZMS) - mining and processing
Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. (GB_ENRC) - mining and processing
Kazkommertsbank (KKGB) - banking
KazMunaiGas common shares (RDGZ) - oil and gas exploration and production
Bank Center Credit (CCBN) - banking
